Ahh, green foods. Kale, lettuce, spinach, collard greens, the list goes on. Most often, if it?s green it?s good for you! Unfortunately, most of these green leafy?s do not taste as good as they are for your body. Despite the bitter, ?yucky? taste, it is so important to consume at least one green food at each meal. Here?s 3 reasons why:
? Greens are superfoods! Meaning they pack a hearty punch of essential nutrients in each serving.
? The vitamins in greens can help regulate blood clotting, prevent inflammation, as well as possibly help prevent diabetes and other health problems.
? I hate to ?say? it, but green leafy?s keep you regular! All that fiber in each serving is so wonderful for your body and keeps your digestive system running smoothly.
Okay, so I probably haven?t sold you on the greens quite yet?they may be great for you, but as I mentioned earlier sometimes they don’t taste that great. However, there are so many ways to make greens taste better! With proper seasoning, greens can turn from bitter to better! Blanching the greens?dipping in boiling water for a few minutes?can rid them of their strong, harsh taste as well. If actually eating greens is still not your speed, try sneaking some in your fruit smoothies! The sweetness of the fruit covers up the bitter taste.
One of my distributors, Janna Baker recently posted a video with a delicious shake recipe using tons of spinach. She made this shake for us at our monthly training meeting and it was soooo good. ?
